CurrentI am a civil litigator in Goldblatt Partners' Toronto office. I began practising law in 2003 and joined the firm in 2008 after prosecuting environmental offences at the Ontario Ministry of the Environment.I handle a variety of civil and commercial disputes for individuals, institutions, trade unions, and not-for-profit housing co-operatives. My practice focuses on professional negligence and discipline matters (with a particular emphasis on defending lawyers sued for negligence i.e. as "Preferred Counsel" for LawPRO), wrongful dismissal litigation on behalf of employees, defamation claims, contractual disputes, and civil claims against the police. I appear regularly before all levels of courts and tribunals throughout the province. In addition to my litigation work, I also provide legal advice to non-unionized employees at all stages of the employment relationship. I advise on and negotiate employment contracts; address various issues that may arise in the course of an employment relationship; and provide strategic advice upon termination, including helping to negotiate termination and severance packages in lieu of litigation.I obtained my law degrees (common and civil law) from McGill University in 2002. I also have a Master of Laws degree (2005) from Yeshiva University’s Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. Prior to law school, I graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University with a bachelor of arts degree.
