Seven months later, NJOY hired me full-time. My portfolio rapidly expanded to include nearly every aspect of NJOY’s business, and I was promoted to Deputy General Counsel after less than two years. I helped guide NJOY through commercially and legally fraught terrain and, in June 2023, Altria acquired NJOY for $2.8 billion. The GC stepped down, and I led NJOY’s 5-person legal team for the company integration.At NJOY, I counseled various business units and directed legal elements of marketing, IP, strategy, and regulatory matters as well as actual and potential litigation.
