I sourced new freehold sites, reporting to the Property Director. I dealt with site finding, purchase negotiations, reporting to the Board, obtaining planning consents and seeing acquisitions through the legal process. I oversaw our retained agents and maintain relations with key individuals in the pub agency sector.I was responsible for the investment of over £50m in new freehold assets and assisted with the investment of substantial further capital in the development and refurbishment of those sites. These included well-known London pubs in prestige locations and a pipeline of new-build development sites.

Harold Wood, Essex

My role was secure sites for new betting shops in London and East Anglia. I acquired almost 100 new shops for the company, mainly by taking individual sites but also via the purchase of existing chains as going concerns.

Brentwood, Essex

I spent my first seven years at McColls as a Regional Estates Manager. I managed the Company’s South East portfolio, comprising over 300 trading shops and more than 50 sublet properties. I dealt with the full range of estate management activities, including lease renewals, rent reviews, surrenders, dilapidation claims and maximising income from the sublet portfolio.I then moved on to acquisitions, purchasing convenience store businesses that occupied freehold premises, which I sold on at a profit to subsidise the business purchase.
