The Quality Group Lead is responsible for adhering to the Quality Management System through effective management of the quality control function. This includes tactical day-to-day leadership of the quality control technicians, incoming raw materials inspectors and any other assigned staff, including staffing, workflow efficiency, line coverage and technical review of all documentation coming out of the quality control team.- Maintains verification or calibration of measurement equipment. Assists in investigations of any out of tolerance calibration results.- Supports development and implementation of methods for sampling, inspection, testing and evaluation of new products.- Assists in training for new Quality Control Technicians or other Quality staff as appropriate; ensures that training is adequate and current for assigned staff.- Conducts data collection to support potential process improvement efforts, including sample collection and testing, controlled document revisions, and workflow.- Participates in or leads special company and corporate initiatives and projects as needed and assigned.

Goal is to drive improvement through process audits and involvement in improvement projects. This position focuses on ISO 9001:2008 standards and ensures compliance with the company's Quality Manual. A Quality Captain's goal is to improve the quality of a given product line by using many tools such as root cause analysis, lean, six sigma, and more.
