I am an ambitious, hard-working, and curious bioanalytical chemist who is passionate about research and development, possesses a propensity for learning and flourishes in dynamic, multidisciplinary environments. I have a diverse skillset in clinical pharmacology, analytical chemistry and microbiology with a focus on infectious diseases. I am trained in use and maintenance of LC and GC systems.I have quality experienced with quadrupole time-of-flight instruments (qTOF), triple quadrupole mass spectrometers (MS/MS) and diode array detectors (DAD). I am currently doing a postdoctoral research fellowship which is developing tuberculosis pharmacodynamic biomarker LC-MS/MS assays. I have developed quantitative LC-MS methods in a variety of matrices including assays to measure antioxidants in beverages.During my PhD, I screened actinobacteria for novel antimalarials using in vitro antiplasmodial assays against drug sensitive and resistant Plasmodium falciparum and elucidated novel compounds using metabolomic high-resolution mass spectrometry workflows.I am trained in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Good Clinical Laboratory Practices (GCLP) principles and have worked in an ISO #15189 accredited laboratory for 8 years.I am a skilled scientific writing with several high-impact first authored publications and have won several awards for oral presentations (https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3217-3286). I have been the course coordinator of the Clinical Pharmacology Honours at the University of Cape Town for the past 5 years, have supervised 12 postgraduate students and have experience writing grants.
