Hi, I’m Daniel Johnson, a former Broadcast Meteorologist working as the State Hazard Mitigation Planner for the Virginia Department of Emergency Management. My goal is to make sure communities are prepared and safe before, during, and after all hazards.I’m working to build close relationships with stakeholders, other Virginia officials, and the local community in order to improve in the development of effective and life-saving emergency plans.I earned my Bachelors degree in Meteorology with a minor in Broadcast Communications at Millersville University in Pennsylvania, and I’ve earned several FEMA certifications. I was born and raised in Virginia, and feel so honored to be serving the people of my home state. My passion is weather and public safety, and I’ll take that passion wherever I go.
