Chef and owner at Mirabelle restaurant in Beaver Creek, Joly also travels the world as judge at prestigious culinary events as well as serving as a brand ambassador for the Belgian beer or Charity even that is caring about Joly was born and raised in Overyse Belgium and graduated from the Culinary Institute of Brussels in 1986. After graduation, he trained at the Michelin 3-star restaurant in Brussels. He then moved to Beaver Creek, Colorado in 1992 to become chef-manager for Mirabelle Restaurant. Joly and his wife, Nathalie, purchased Mirabelle in 1999. Joly has received acclaim from numerous publications and institutions for his culinary skills. In January 2008, Joly and Mirabelle received four-star ratings from the Mobil Travel Guide and AAA. Joly has also received an Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator magazine for each of the 15 years he has been chef and co-owner of the restaurant. Chef Joly’s culinary endeavors extend beyond Mirabelle. Joly recently published a cookbook, Not Just Another Cookbook. He is also the host of a popular cooking show on Vail’s TV8 called “Something’s Cooking with Daniel ” Chef Joly is the only Belgian Master chef currently working in the United States and was recently awarded to the Mastercook Wall of Fame, the only US-based chef to achieve that honor. Joly is also a Member of Euro Toques and was recently a Judge in Paris for the 2014 Taitinger culinary competition.
