Geotechnical design manager for the design of a new Residue Storage Facility (RSF) in New Caledonia. Led the development of 2D and 3D geological models, wrote the geotechnical interpretive report and scoped and interpreted additional site investigations. Managed GHD site investigation work including engineering geological mapping and cross-hole seismic geophysical investigations. Involved with quarry high wall design and stability assessments, settlement analysis, spillway design and many other aspects of the project.

Sakhalin Region, Russian Federation

Geotechnical Engineer on the Sakhalin II Oil & Gas Project, Russia. Site based civil / geotechnical role, providing advice for cross country oil & gas pipelines, including the construction of fault crossings, embankments, permanent access roads and block valves. Undertook routine surveillance of construction activities to ensure compliance with design, specifications and method statements. Civil / geotechnical representative for tri-party walkovers of block valves above ground installations (AGI) to generate punch-list items for Mechanical Completion, and to enable hand over to Pre-commissioning team. Provided geotechnical advice to pipeline Right of Way (RoW) Reinstatement Coordinator with daily surveillance monitoring and covered rotational leave periods as Reinstatement Coordinator / Field Superintendent.

New Caledonia

Member of site based Geotechnical team of four on the Goro Nickel Project, New Caledonia. This major green-field project including the the construction of a 60,000t/pa nickel process plant, including two marine wharfs, an extensive road network, water supply pipeline, large tailings dam, mine haul roads, ROM pad and other mine infrastructure. Site involved complexities including high annual rainfall, unusual tropical laterite soils up to 60m depth.

Worked for a geotechnical consultancy on a variety of civil and mining projects. This work has included supervision for geotechnical investigations, extensive slope and rock cutting assessments, design and detailing of stabilisation treatment requirements, extensive geological data collection, analysis, interpretation and reporting.

Undertook geological mapping in slate mines in north Wales. Site engineer and CQA for landfill construction. Acted as surveyors assistant as required.
