Full time position at Folktandvården Skåne including part time Associate Professor position at Malmö University (adjungerat lektorat och docent). Also program director of the postgraduate program in periodontology at Folktandvården Örebro. And most importantly, father of Livia and Samuel (twins).

First year of residency completed during 2008. A leave of absence was granted to allow for me to pursue research at Columbia University (NY, US). Upon finishing my Postdoctoral Fellowship at Columbia University I was awarded Postdoctoral Associate by the Swedish Research Council to allow me to continue my research efforts alongside completing my residency at Malmö University.Starting January 2016 I will be the program director of the postdoctoral residency program in periodontics at Örebro specialist clinic (SE). Previous teaching and supervisory experience include one semester of supervising 3rd year dental students in the periodontic clinic, (ii) supervising students for two bachelor thesis and one master thesis, (iii) lecturing on different aspects of Periodontal Disease Pathobiology and Systemic Effects of Periodontitis for dental students.

Research focusing on (i) pathobiological mechanisms in experimental gingivitis (transcriptome and proteomics) and (ii) the association between periodontitis and heart disease. Worked in the lab of Prof. Panos Papapanou. The postdoctoral fellowship was sponsored by the Swedish Research Council.

Defended the thesis "The biological role of the female sex hormone estrogen in the periodontium--studies on human periodontal ligament cells". Head Supervisor: Bengt-Olof Nilsson, Professor in Physiololgy, Lund University, Sweden. Co-supervised by Gunilla Bratthall, Professor in Periodontics, Malmö University, Sweden. PhD studentship included 20% teaching and lecturing.
