Senior Personnel Security Specialist
CurrentPossess mastery of the Code of Federal Regulations, Executive Orders, Federal Codes and legislation, including Executive Orders 13467, 12968 (as amended) and 10450, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 731, 732, and 1400, Intelligence Community Directive 704, and Security Executive Agent Directives (SEADs). Train and provide guidance to entry-level personnel and others. Implement the policies and procedures for the Personnel Security and Suitability Program in accordance with applicable laws, Executive Orders, and Office of Personnel Management guidelines.Adjudicate background investigation reports and determine the suitability and security eligibility of individuals for entry or retention in sensitive and non-sensitive positions. Serve as a technical authority in making preliminary and final suitability/fitness and security clearance decisions. Evaluate requests for personnel security investigations and security clearances on applicants, employees and contractors. Prepare interrogatory letters, letters of proposed action, advisory letters, official decisions to applicants, employees and contractors.Review, assess, and analyze information from various sources and make determination on national security clearance for employees or other persons for access to sensitive information, resources, material, or work sites. Lead or participate in training session, meetings and working groups. Training employees on the processes and duties of a Security Specialist which includes the introduction of appropriate regulations and guidelines to employees, establishing and maintaining training plans and procedures for the PSD, conferring with the PSD management on the performance and progress of Security Specialists, identifying and recommending training topics for the PSD, developing, implementing, and managing individual tracking systems and processes for monitoring and managing security caseloads, and reviewing suitability and security recommendations made by Security Specialists.
