Junior Materials Engineer
CurrentI tackle global plastic pollution by helping develop bio-based plastic replacement materials derived from seaweed which are both industrially and home-compostable. I engage in process/formulation development and performance optimizations of melt-processable bioplastics which can be processed via twin screw extrusion, blown film extrusion, cast film extrusion, and injection molding. I also perform physical and thermal materials characterization (including DSC, MFI, rheometry, tensile testing) for Sway materials as well as laboratory safety improvement, SOP development, and cross-functional collaboration to further develop Sway’s technical infrastructure.
