Developed and optimized the NIST Big Data Interoperability Framework by portioning required preprocessing and analysis tasks into microservices using Docker containers and identifying strategies for increased performance.Took a complex weather prediction model written in Fortran 90, split it into smaller dedicated microservices, packaged each into a separate container, made an orchestration script to handle sharing data and running each service, and wrote a white paper detailing the entire process.Located points of interest in a large code base, came up with optimizations and enhancements to increase performance and usability, and communicated progress and issues to a supervisor.
