Serve as a touch point for HDR students on campus to connect them with university resources and their peers to re-imagine the way we do the PhD at ANU and in Australia. Our aim is to form a community of HDR students willing to learn from and to encourage each other, finding motivation, support, and innovation from our peers. By building these connections to each other and to the resources of our University, we are building a strong and healthy dynamic that promotes students well developed to thrive in the PhD, in academia, and beyond.

• Coordinated efforts of faculty, staff, students, and community members to establish a new one-acre community garden near campus, named the Peace Garden• Searched and successfully applied for grant opportunities to support the operating budget• Managed ten Community Partnership interns to keep deadlines, anticipate challenges and adhere to budget guidelines with their summer projects• Taught workshops on community development including the importance of mission statements, not-for-profit funding challenges, and innovative social service programs• Co-authored the new Action Research Center strategic plan by completing focus groups, a SWOT analysis, and a nationwide review of best practices
