In my latest job role here I now have the responsibility of overseeing the day to day running of the workshop. Managing & assisting our service engineers, organising maintenance schedules and liaising with manufacturers. On top of that I also have the task of sourcing parts, service & repairing cranes and attending sites to carry out various breakdowns

With over 14 years experience I had gained an incredible amount of knowledge on the various mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems that make up a mobile crane. Carrying out regular maintenance and repairs, I regularly worked on Grove, Tadano faun, ppm, terex, Liebherr and Franna cranes and also have vast experience on Mercedes power plants and various drive trains from manufacturers including ZF, Kessler and Allison. My job calls on the need to be able to read schematics and use special tools to diagnose & rectify faults on various electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. I was also heavily involved with the service and maintenance work on the Liebherr MK self erecting cranes. The complexity of these cranes was a great challenge to me, and one that I thoroughly enjoyed. I have a very positive outlook and thrive on the daily challenges that I come up against.

My role here as a service engineer was to maintain and service a fleet of mobile cranes ranging from 14tonnes up to 100tonnes. fault finding electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical problems, Welding & fabricating, as well as power plant/transmission & final drive rebuilds. I worked regularly on Liebherr LTM,LTC, Terex demag AC, PPM ATT, Grove GMK, Tadano ATF All terrain & city cranes. Franna pick and carry cranes, National, Tadano and Grove truck mount cranes. I also had lots of experience working on the Liebherr MK self erecting tower cranes, which are a very complex machine.

Taken on as an apprentice at the age of 16. When I was not at college I would assist various engineers with the service and maintenance of small plant machinery. After I successfully completed my college course I was taken on full time as a plant and access service engineer. Carrying out repairs to dumpers, excavators,fork lifts, telescopic forklifts to name a few, and I also maintained various access equipment.
