With 24 years of experience in education, I currently serve as the District Administrator for the Stoughton Area School District (SASD). My career is rooted in my core values of family, compassion, and equity, and I am committed to fostering learning environments where students are encouraged to think critically and contribute to their communities. I believe Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) are fundamental to education, ensuring that each individual’s experiences are honored and that every student has the support they need to succeed.I began my career at UW-Whitewater, earning a degree in Physics and Mathematics before transitioning into teaching. Over the years, I progressed into leadership roles, serving as a building-level leader, teacher, and district-level administrator in multiple districts. I also served as Superintendent of the School District of Beloit, where I led significant district-wide improvements that enhanced student outcomes and strengthened community engagement.At SASD, I have driven strategic initiatives to improve operational efficiency, foster cross-departmental collaboration, and enhance student achievement. By leading cross-functional teams, I have implemented governance frameworks that resulted in systemic improvements. I am particularly focused on coaching and continuous improvement that boost student engagement and achievement.Equity is at the core of my leadership philosophy. I believe in ensuring that every individual feels a sense of belonging and access to thrive. I am actively involved in mentoring aspiring leaders and teaching graduate courses.Beyond my role at SASD, I contribute to the community through organizations like the Rotary Club, the Closing the Achievement Gap Consortium, and the RELN Fellowship. I also serve on the Board of Directors for the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce and the Stoughton Innovation Center.I hold a Master’s in Educational Administration from UW-Milwaukee and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Edgewood College. My background in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects allows me to apply systems thinking to continuously improve educational programs and student outcomes.Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, biking, and spending time outdoors with my wife and two boys. I am also passionate about reading, movies and connecting with family and friends. Guided by Simon Sinek’s belief that "Leadership is not about being in charge; it’s about taking care of those in your charge," I strive to lead with empathy, ensuring the success of those I serve.
