CurrentMy role is;• Setting up farming systems for small scale, medium scale and large scale farms.• Developing policies and standard operating procedures for the various categories of farming groups• Developing crop budgets and ensuring adherence to the same• Developing fertilizer and spray regimes for various crops• Overall in charge of Crop protection and the scouting team• Planning and ensuring the incorporation of sustainable farming techniques.• Designing cropping plans for the farms and farmers; climate smart farming.• In charge of planning and execution of the company’s corporate social responsibility projects on Agroforestry, Soil management and Intergrated Pest Management.• Overseeing the implementation of Good Agricultural Practices.• Preparing efficacy trials protocols; being in charge of trials• Auditing and oversee the implementation of the QMS, Global G.A.P, MPS-GAP, BRC, GRASP, SMETA and ETI Standards and KS1758 at the center/group and farm level.• Spearheading the Global G.A.P certification of farms and farmer groups.• Developing the training notes and plans with relevance to the groups or farmer categories • Training (TOT) staff, farmers and farm workers on Good Agricultural Practices.• Conducting Training Need Assessment (TNA) to staff and farmers.• To advise management on the implementation of corrective actions arising from risk assessments and customer feedback.• Undertaking trade relations with regulatory authorities in the region; PCPB, HCD, KEPHIS and County Agricultural Officer. • Coordinating regulatory assessments and providing regulatory reports• Monitoring legislative changes in counties of operation• Follow up on grievances, complaints, sanctions to the farmers.• Spearheading the acquisition of the relevant licenses, permits and certificates• In charge of quality, ensuring specifications are met focusing on results• Ensuring compliance to the regulatory requirements
