Vince Lombardi once said, "Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection, we can achieve excellence." This quote not only resonates with me, but defines the hard working mentality I have daily.I am a senior in the College of Business at Ohio University majoring in Finance and minoring in Military Science. Once I graduate, in the spring, I will commission as an Active Duty officer and hopefully work within the Finance Corps. I believe as a commissioned officer in the United States Army, I can not only excel in the workplace, but also excel in bettering the lives of the soldiers under my command. Experience in the field that I will soon work full-time in is key to personal growth. I understand this, have immersed myself within many different organizations or schooling's to continue growth. I have developed some of my skills as a soldier in the Ohio National Guard, Cultural Understanding and Language Proficiency Program, Advanced Cadet Summer Training, and Basic Combat Training. Here I have:-Learned the basic combat skills as an enlisted soldier-Shadowed lieutenants and help with any task a lieutenant might need -Trained with the Hungarian Defense Forces in Hungary- Taught English to foreign soldiers- Led platoon sized operations in a tactical environment- Received and overall score of "excellent" in Advanced Cadet Summer Training.-Received a slot for Air Assault school in the upcoming summerI hope to pursue a career in Finance within the military.
