Daniel is a Policy Officer at the European Commission for the coordination with the EIB Group, EBRD and other IFIs (International Financial Institutions). The EIB Group consists of the EIB and the EIF and will invest almost 100 billion euros per year the coming years. Daniel helps preparing board meetings and helps coordinating European investments amongst others in European housing and infrastructure, in European businesses and in the European sustainability, digital and security transition.Last year, Daniel has worked as a Member of Parliament on Dutch infrastructure, and as a Partner on helping European businesses to ensure that the mobility over European infrastructure will be sustainable in the future. He has worked in the capital markets, raising public debt for European governments and private equity for European businesses.At the Dutch Parliament, from 2017 to 2023, Daniel was a Member of Parliament for the VVD. In his second term, from 2021 to 2023, he was the spokesperson and the budget rapporteur for infrastructure. In his first term, from 2017 to 2021, he was the spokesperson for the housing market.At the European Commission, from 2010 to 2017, Daniel has continuously worked on the reforms of programme countries: in Brussels, in Luxembourg and on the ground. In 2013, Daniel moved to Brussels to work on the reforms of programme countries and programme countries'​ banks and housing markets, focussing on Greece and Cyprus. When the European reform funds EFSM and EFSF were announced in 2010, Daniel was seconded from the Dutch Ministry of Finance to Luxembourg to work on setting up first EFSM and EFSF and later ESM and funding European government debt, focusing on Greece and Cyprus.At the Dutch Ministry of Finance, from 2008 to 2010, Daniel has worked on the reforms of Dutch banks. From 2004 to 2008, he has worked on funding Dutch government debt and export.Daniel holds a Master of Science in Financial Econometrics from the University of Amsterdam. He is also a CFA charterholder.
