I've been in law enforcement for about 15 years. The personal and professional growth from LE experience is very unique.As a patrol officer, I quickly recognized that my niche was investigations but particularly investigations using advanced technology. After serving 10 years in patrol, I was promoted to the Detective Division. I advocated for our department to obtain a Cellebrite Digital Forensics system. I attended training and became certified in its use. Recently, I advocated for our department to implement a License Plate Reader (LPR) system. We are currently testing the Flock Safety LPR system. These systems allow law enforcement to be much more proactive in investigations and connect cases that have multi-jurisdictional components. I have volunteers to put myself through Fire Investigation school and Financial Crimes Investigation training. I am certified in each discipline. I am the Executive Director of our 501C3 Police Charity which raises money through events such as softball games, brat frys, golf outings and other events that advance the relationship between the department and the community. The money raised is then granted to organizations that have a positive impact on the greater Beaver Dam Community.After having investigated thousands of incidents, written thousands of reports and testified in court hundreds of times, I feel I have developed a level of confidence and interpersonal skills that could be applicable in a variety of fields.
