As a Lead Field Applications Scientist, my responsibilities range from customer success and support, new product introduction leadership, and APAC distributor sales support and applications management. I work closely with customers and commercial representatives to manage and meet the expectations established for the Beacon platform. Internally, I collaborate with marketing, product development, and R&D to create new products. As an individual with experience spanning product development to launch and support, I have developed and implemented processes to ensure successful introduction of new products. Lastly, I have contributed to the development of APAC distribution channels by transferring technology, training technical teams, and communicating best practices across time zone and cultures.

An estimated 90% of cancer deaths are due to metastasis. Studies have shown that circulating tumor cell, CTC, counts can provide prognostic insight and are thought to play a key role in metastasis. CTCs are cells that are shed from the primary tumor and released into the vascular system. Quantifying and sequencing CTCs can detect disease recurrence significantly earlier than traditional imaging, thus saving lives. I have developed a platform to isolate CTCs from whole blood for downstream analysis. We are integrating isolation and characterization devices to perform liquid biopsies -- ultimately expanding our knowledge of how cancer spreads and accelerating precision medicine methodologies such as early detection, detailed prognosis, therapy tracking, and personalized medicine. •Utilized inertial microfluidic to isolate tumor cells from human whole blood•Modeled fluid dynamics in Comsol to understand particle trajectory and fluid shear rate •Fabricated devices via AutoCAD, thin-film deposition, photolithography, and soft lithography•Executed routine cell processing, culture, and maintenance for experiments and microscopy imaging •Quantified device performance via cell immunostaining and flow cytometry•Supervised and mentoring undergraduate researchers in experimental design and device fabrication•Managed clean room operations and equipment: plasma cleaner, mask aligner, resist spinner, etc. Collaborations:Siemens Clinical LaboratoryUC Davis Medical Center
