I spend my days helping patients and families. I have spent my career serving diverse communities and advocating for equitable health outcomes for all patients. I lead the pulmonary department, in St Barnabas Hospital, New York City where I manage residents and fellows in delivering the best healthcare services for our community. I am also interested in ways in which we can leverage tech enabled platforms and systems to improve efficiency and service-delivery: I led tele-ICU services across the United States - in the early stages of its development. Before I became a medical professional - I spent the first part of my career in investment banking and finance at Citibank. I transitioned to medicine as a second career and trained as a physician in both the UK and the United States, and as such I have a deep understanding of different healthcare financing models.
