Partnering with and assisting students in the Welcome Center at San Diego City College in multifaceted tasks including completing applications for enrollment in San Diego City College.I also assist students in successfully navigating the process of completing the FAFSA application to receive financial aid to pay for enrollment in San Diego City College. This also facilitates students being able to receive disbursements of the Pell Grant and federal loans. I assist students in registering for classes for current and upcoming semesters, and also dropping classes, and utilizing basic skills in the mySDCCD student portal as well as the online learning platform CANVAS.My responsibilities also include directing students who enter the Welcome Center to the appropriate departments necessary for student success and conducting tours on campus to new and potential students at City College.

I work as a Case Manager and HMIS coordinator for the Safe Sleeping Site program for homeless individuals in San Diego, specifically at the O-lot and B-lot locations. My main duties involve handling client intake and placement within the Safe Sleeping Program, managing the Clarity database for the program and CES enrollment using Vi-SPDAT assessments, as well as placing clients in the community queue while they await housing placement. I collaborate with outreach workers to address housing needs and placement after clients are matched with housing from the RTFH. In addition, I provide ongoing case management for current participants in the Safe Sleeping Program, ensuring accurate client data management and the overall quality of the Safe Sleeping Program. Furthermore, I assist clients with applications for state benefits.

In my role as a residential youth counselor/coordinator at a short-term youth shelter, I assisted and facilitated the day-to-day basic needs and schedules of youth aged 11-17. My responsibilities included organizing outings, conducting group counseling and activity sessions, assisting with homework, and using shelter logs to communicate information to other counselors and MFCC case managers. I also shared responsibility for the weekly graveyard shift, including hourly bed checks. Additionally, I handled 24-hour crisis intervention telephone calls and provided community referral information to other social service providers and programs. Lastly, I was in charge of meal preparation for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
