My second tour in the United States Coast Guard is on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. I learned a new airframe, and became qualified as aircrew and a Dropmaster. Beginning January of 2022, I was transferred to the heavy maintenance shift. The focus has been completing detailed inspections for airframe corrosion and large hourly/calendar packages. My second tour I really started to understand the maintenance cycle process. I earned a qualification as a maintenance watch captain, reviewing and tasking work requiring completion on a daily and weekly basis.I attended a three week long course in Nondestructive Testing techniques at Hellier NDT in La Porte, TX, and currently perform these inspections on Coast Guard aircraft.Additionally, I sought out the responsibility to perform engine ground runs. This entails a thorough review of completed work detailed in the aircraft logbook, and performing the required checks in accordance with manufacturer instructions.My current role is a primary quality assurance inspector. Duties include verifying the work others perform properly adheres to organizational policy, standards, and manufacturer guidelines.

My first tour in the United States Coast Guard as an aircraft mechanic took place in Sacramento. While stationed there, I had the opportunity to learn best practices on the job, as well as formal training off-site. I completed a three week advanced composite repair course, with plenty of theory and hand-on applications. I also attended a two week course at the Rolls Royce training center located in Indianapolis, IN. The focus was on the AE2100D2 engine which the HC-27J utilizes. I had the opportunity to head up multiple aircraft loading missions throughout the United States as well as abroad. This experience earned my place as a loadmaster examiner, training my peers in this role for over 2 years, and formally evaluating them during annual training exercises.

Primarily assisted the Machinery Technicians, completing two main Diesel engine overhauls and thorough inspections. Earned boat crewman and engineer for the small boats onboard, supporting effective underway missions.
