I am a scientist with interdisciplinary experience in both organic synthesis and computational chemistry specializing in the study of fluorophore synthesis and photophysics. I employed quantum calculations to determine the dyes' electronic structure and excited states. With this insight, I was able to rationally design novel fluorescent dyes with improved optical properties. After chemical and photophysical characterization, subsequent biological characterization was used to aid in the evaluation as imaging agents for cancer detection. While I am passionate about research and problem solving, I am open to whatever opportunities come my way.
