About Daniel Laverty, Phd

I'm interested in the intersection between DNA repair and human health. By understanding the molecular mechanisms of DNA repair, we can understand how healthy cells are protected from disease and unveil new therapeutic opportunities for diseases ranging from cancer to Huntington's disease. I combine expertise in nucleic acid chemistry, biochemistry, and molecular biology to answer exciting new questions about DNA repair, especially double strand break repair and translesion synthesis.
