I hail from Wisconsin and earned my bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Science from the University of Wisconsin—La Crosse in 2016. In 2018, I pursued a Master's degree in Strength and Conditioning at LaGrange College, GA, where I served as the Head Strength Coach for Men’s and Women’s basketball. In 2024, I completed my doctoral degree in Health and Human Performance at Oklahoma State University.My academic and professional journey has been marked by a commitment to educational excellence and innovative research within exercise science. A significant part of this journey was my doctoral research, which delved into velocity-based training as a predictive tool for performance enhancement. This research not only laid the foundation for my broader interests in physiological adaptations to training interventions but also contributed to the field by providing insights into alternative methods of assessing and prescribing training load and target repetitions during resistance training, particularly through velocity-based training. This approach, which quantifies movement speed for maximizing power and strength gains, has the potential to enhance the way we approach resistance training. My research background focus is aimed to optimizing health and human performance, targeting athletic populations and military personnel. I have also collaborated on research into neuro-mechanical mechanisms of strength and hypertrophy adaptations and biochemical mechanisms associated with skeletal muscle hypertrophy.In addition to my academic pursuits, my extensive experience as a commissioned officer in the United States Army and as a strength and conditioning coach has provided me with a unique perspective on the physical and mental demands of high-performance athletes and operational personnel. These experiences have honed my expertise in applied exercise science and underscored the importance of translating research into practice.
