I have a background in philosophy (Master of Arts; 1.1 first-class honours), psychology (Higher Diploma; 1.1 first-class honours), and neuroscience (Master of Science; 1.1 first class honours). My interests sit at the intersection of these disciplines, on topics such as the ontology and phenomenology of emotion, affective and cognitive measures of empathy, moral decision-making, human enhancement including moral bioenhancement, and the ethical impact of new and prospective socially disruptive technologies.I have worked for two years as a teaching assistant with the University of Galway philosophy department, teaching skills in critical thinking, persuasive writing, and logic. I have commenced a PhD position on the subject of neurophilosophy with the Cognition, Values, and Behaviour (CVBE) lab of the Munich Interactive Intelligence Initiative (Mi3), part of the Graduate School of Systemic Neurosciences (GSN) at LMU, Munich. My main thesis concerns moral bioenhancement in typical and morally-impaired populations, and I am delighted to apply the skills and experience from my extensive cross-disciplinary study to new and exciting breakthroughs in this cross-disciplinary space.
