Over the last three decades, I have held senior asset raising and business development roles at MGG (current), a $5.5B private lending firm focused on the non-sponsor lower middle market; Akre Capital Managment; BRI Partners, a Chicago based venture capital firm which provided seed capital to, among others, Ore Hill Partners, a multi-billion dollar hedge fund now owned by Man Group; Steel Partners, a multi-billion global shareholder activist; and Geosphere Capital Management, a New York based natural resources hedge fund. Prior to entering the investment business, I spent several years in academia and hold a Ph.D. in political philosophy and international relations from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana.
