I am currently working on the Tarsier runway hazard management system, in particular developing a web front end for managing the system both from a customer and support perspective.Whilst at QinetiQ I have been part of a variety of projects ranging from web development to research software for autonomous UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) and various things in between.I have had the opportunity to develop software for a variety of operating systems (including Linux and Windows) and use a variety of technologies and programming languages including: Java, C++, PHP, mySQL, PostgreSQL, Apache, Tomcat, SOAP, JACK Agent Language, Ant, JUnit, JNI, Swing, Openmap, Embedded Visual C++.

I worked on a project involving command and control of a group of UAVs, in particular my role included gathering requirements, designing, implementing and testing software solutions for particular scenarios. This was primarily done using Java but also involved JACK Agent Framework, C++.I was also responsible for supervising new members of the team and helping to ensure they are up to speed with both the project and programming in the JACK Agent Language.The project was featured on New Scientist http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn10675 , Slashdot and BBC news.I coauthored a paper titled "Fly-by-agent: Controlling a pool of UAVs via a multi-agent system"
