I am currently employed at Johnson Controls Federal Systems in Navy systems as a Centrifugal Compressor Design Specialist. Duties include; Centrifugal Compressor Design, A.C. Plant Design, support and revision of existing legacy reciprocating and screw type compressors for use on large Marine application A.C. Shell and tube heat exchangers. Examples of design work include, large castings, machining models, motor housings, bearing housings, impeller castings, impeller machining models and drawings, diffusers, nozzles, volutes and vanes (air foil design). I use geometric tolerancing ASME Y14.5M-1982 to ensure form fit and function of parts to reduce scrap and increase quality. In addition I participate in design reviews to improve quality, efficiency and precision of products. I serve as the group Windchill business administrator as well. Programs used include; PTC Creo, Windchill, AutoCAD 2017, Costpoint, MapicsXA, ECN management software.

I was previously employed as a shell and tube heat exchanger designer. Duties included utilizing PTC Creo and Windchill to develop 3D models and drawings while using best engineering practices and simultaneously applying geometric tolerances as per ANSI and MIL-SPEC standards to ensure proper form, fit and function of parts. I also used CADDS5 (in 2D) to develop unit wiring schematics and device details as well as revisions to legacy products. I used Material Resource Planning software to investigate existing BOM’s and employ Microsoft Excel to prepare BOM’s for purchasing necessary items for assembly. In addition I also prepare Parts In Process Microsoft Word documents. I also help my fellow colleagues as a troubleshooting resource if a need arises with PTC Creo. Applications of parts and assembly include Marine Chillers and Compressors.

Previously employed for Integrated BioSciences in the Automation Department as a Mechanical Designer. Duties included designing and detailing automated machine components and sub-assemblies, applying form fit and function using geometric tolerancing as per ANSI standards. I also determined specifications for materials, manufacturing techniques, electronic components construction and performance, including equipment speeds and tolerances. I generated engineering change notices and purchase orders to purchase manufactured parts and commercial items. I participated in design review meetings for the purpose of evaluating design requirements and developing fabrication plans. I assisted in the development of I/O listings; Bills of Materials; Timing Diagrams and Process Flow Diagrams. I am proficient in SolidWorks 2009 and AutoCAD. I created the standard bill of materials as well as the title blocks for complete transition from AutoCAD to SolidWorks. Applications of parts included escapement tooling for separating parts off of vibratory bowl feeders, robot gripper tooling and pallet tooling for the assembly of product. I would also help in machine assembly and machining parts occasionally.
