I am an Industrial Engineering undergraduate student in my sophomore year. In my previous roles as a Lifeguard with the City of Irvine and a Resident Assistant at the University of Nevada, Reno, I learned invaluable skills such as report writing, teamwork, coordination, management of a large facility and daily operations. I also earned active certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR, O2, and AED treatment. My work as a Resident Assistant allows me to pay for my undergraduate education. From these previous roles I have also developed important soft skills such as instantaneous communication in a team setting, reacting to rapidly changing circumstances, and coordinating with a clear chain of command. As a unique byproduct of my Resident Assistant role, I learned how to interact positively with a group of residents from drastically different backgrounds, each holding their own unique perspective. As a sophomore studying in the College of Engineering, I’ve taken classes such as Engineering Physics 1 and 2, Statics, AutoCAD Graphics, and Calculus 1-3. Throughout my previous and current job experiences, I’ve built upon my natural strength of communication. I tend to find resolutions to conflicts and am known to boost morale. I am eager to gain valuable hands on experience in my chosen field and grow professionally.
