Started out on social care for a nursing agency, going on to work up to a registered manager of two/three small homes for adults with learning disabilities. Changed to running own business in the waste industry. Went well for a while and then not so well. Although ending in voluntary insolvency and some other challenges, I learned a lot and dealt with all the things which needed taking care of in the aftermath of a business going to pot. May go back into the world of running my own business one day. Took a relaxed return to employment with the Library Service. Enjoyed taking on more responsibility which ended with an unexpected short secondment as a Library Manager before moving on to work as a Duty Supervisor with Customer Services, followed by successfully applying for my current role with the Registration Service. Always open to new experiences and challenges. Have worked though some challenges over the years with low mood and anxiety, strongly believing it should be an open and spoken about aspect of life. Enjoy a physical challenge. Have walked the West Highland and Great Glen Way back to back for charity, done the Three Peaks twice (one time solo), did my first Sprint Triathlon last year and participated in a charity boxing match. Very pleased to aquatint myself with new people.
