I grew up in the piney woods of East Texas where I first developed a love for hard work, due to our family owned and operated duck dog kennel. Moccasin Creek Kennel has been operating for twenty plus years and has created thousands of happy customers nationwide. This all has been made possible by the strenuous, constant work of training dogs, cleaning kennels, whelping litters of puppies, and property/equipment maintenance. I maintained a weighted 4.8 GPA throughout high school, was a FFA member since 3rd grade (lamb proficiency project), and participated in sports. This is all to say that I have been preparing for my future career my whole life. The welding/agriculture mechanics program at my high school taught me the skills I need now through creating multiple projects. These developed skills allowed me to become a student worker at Mississippi State University in the Agricultural & Biological Engineering shop under the direction of Dr. Daniel Chesser and Dr. Wes Lowe. I participated side by side with professors and graduate students in the design and creation of many projects, including a variable rate spot cultivator. • Daily shop task: sweeping/upkeep, tool organization, research trials, graduate student project creation/maintenance.• Specific duties: welding (MIG, TIG, STICK), machining, fabrication, painting, wiring and equipment operation (drill press, milling machine, band saw (multiple form), box break, welder (multiple type), spot welder, oxy-acetylene torch, tractor, forklift).All the skills and experience I have developed from early grade school, high school, and now college have helped prepare me to succeed in many different career paths. I am confident I will be able to learn and fit the ideals of any company/business I work for.
