Im a motivational leader of a Social Enterprise. Skilled in Coaching, Leadership, Individual Counselling, Motivational Speaking, and Life Coaching. Strong professional with a Higher National Diploma focused in NLP and Time Line Therapies from Neuro Masters academy.In my decade in Australia I worked in the Northern Territory, based out of Alice Springs. During that time, I developed and delivered a Methamphetamine Outreach program that was the first of its kind as it was non-clinically based. We were funded through the Primary Health Care Network, we were also a 24-hour callout service 1 week on 1 week off between me and one other, accompanied Monday to Friday with case management, based on a harm minimization therapeutic model. We gave a voice to the voiceless. But most importantly we saved many from the grips of addiction, gave them purpose and belief to not only recover but to reignite and begin to live the life they had always dreamt of by understanding this process requires patience and perseverance and an understanding that it was ok to fall if you wanted to fly. Families were reunited and re-bonded. Court systems were more supported. The community felt safer and more empowered. All simply by the power of education around what most don’t understand. Not why the addiction. Why the pain? Why did it work so well? Everything I learnt in my Diploma and other studies I did the opposite of within reason, as clinical models when addressing active addiction in the community through Outreach, fail to the addicted person, as they don’t trust authority and “the system.” Harm minimization is the only way to reach the majority while in crisis. Our point of difference was lived experience, coupled with a tenacity to believe, and hold certainty in each client even when they didn’t. Not wronging them in lapse or relapse but educating them that this is needed to find recovery. The opposite of addiction isn’t sobriety it's connection. We made sure that through us they find connection to themselves. The rest falls into place. Why am I different? Anyone can attend University and study psychology, human behavior or addiction. But only a few of us, graduate from the University of life. I graduated with honors. What I've learnt from a fractured life of darkness and pain can’t be taught. People young and old in crisis, gripped by trauma and addiction, can recognise someone who's been where they currently are. That is the person they will trust and listen to as their guide out of the darkness and into their own bright day. I am that person. I am Danny Lloyd.
