About Daniel Locatelli
As a kid I would disassemble and fix my radio control cars for fun. Since joining the AEC industry this has not changed: I am figuring out how to disassemble and fix this industry so it can work properly again.Originally from Brazil, I moved to Germany in 2019 to pursue a Master of Science degree at the University of Stuttgart. Here I worked for two computational engineering offices, leveling up their computational design and digital fabrication teams.In 2023, I joined BuildSystems full-time to develop new decarbonization workflows for the AEC industry by creating an LCA Grasshopper plugin and a web app to help navigate the German funding and bureaucracy landscape.I am also a tutor, and I have led many workshops about Computational Design, BIM, and Digital Fabrication. The teaching environment really brings the best out of me. That's why I will start dedicating more time to sharing the knowledge I've acquired so far.I am currently diving deep into the software development world. And I have to say, combining it with the AEC industry may have been my Ikigai this whole time.
