After building the FiT template it will be rolled out all over Europe in 4 waves.Contribution: SME for Spanish, Portuguese and Italian localization and for DART. Identified local gaps based on Spanish, Portuguese and Italian regulatory and statutory requirements. Configured the system enabling the use of SAP standard localization functionality as much as possible for these 3 countries. Wrote functional specs for the FI enhancements and new developments not covered by standard SAP functionality. Identified and helped to implement and test all the OSS Notes needed in the system for Spain, Portugal and Italy (the last Support Package that had been implemented in the system was almost 4 years ago). Drafted unit and integration test scenarios and solved defects. Set up DART for the German companies according to the GDPdU regulations. Show less

I played an active role in the fit/gap workshops helping to identify all the gaps and configuration tasks needed for Spain. Configured and unit tested the VAT, withholding tax and sales equalization tax functionalities as well as tax declarations. Developed local training material in these areas. Provided assistance to other FI team members and agreed with the SD, MM and Data teams how to proceed on integration points. Helped to solve integration testing defects. Conducted individualized tax workshops with the business for Venezuela, Mexico and Brazil covering VAT, withholding tax and other local taxes which resulted in the identification of multiple gaps. Wrote a document of 57 pages for Venezuela and Mexico explaining the local requirements and drafting a solution for all gaps related to local taxes, exchange rates and vendor and customer master data. Helped to develop the overall strategy and approach for localization within the project. Analysed the support packages and OSS Notes that needed to be implemented. All this work was done during the 5 weeks in which I was available before joining the SMI project for Estée Lauder. The customer requested me to stay until the end of the project but it was not possible for me to stay any longer. The global template was afterwards planned to be rolled out to the rest of the world in 2 clusters. The first cluster was launched on February 2010 and included 3 parallel rollouts: Americas, Africa and Middle East. In May 2010, once the business blueprint was almost finished, the company decided to postpone the realization phase of the rollouts until October 2010 to be able to focus on the resolution of the open issues that the live countries had reported and were affecting the global template. Contribution: Led the accounting business blueprint for the Americas’ rollouts which included 41 countries with special focus on Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Venezuela and USA. Conducted the accounting business blueprint process validation workshops with the business which resulted in the identification of 114 gaps within the FI-GL, FI-AP, FI-AR and FI-AA modules. Proposed and documented the individual solutions for the 46 gaps that were raised related to local taxes (VAT and Withholding Tax).
