I worked at Cisco on a scrum-based team for expanding the Python codebase for an active cable modem product. I was able to quickly learn internal code standards to develop for a new architecture and protocol specifications. One example of a project I took on was: I ported features from a sister product after analyzing the imact to the new system’s architecture, different OS, programming language, and project requirements.

I was a part of the team that worked on DARPA's Squad X program, creating a robotic threat detection and assessment platform for a group of troops in the field. I became more familiar with ROS, Git, and Unix while integrating new hardware into the system. I updated the code base for use with new sensors and operating systems, which allowed Kitware to further development of their product on the latest versions of both hardware and software.

I interned at the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center during the Summers from 2012 through 2016. Some of the projects I worked on include:- Wrote Java code for an interface controlling an autonomous robot that maps, monitors, and manages the energy and thermal properties of a data center in order to reduce energy consumption- Developed code using the OpenCV library for a greeter robot to map the layout of a room- Continued development of a web-based application for a mathematical card game- Designed a 3D-face recognition security program, implementing a process described in a research paper- Helped update codebase for proof-of-concept fingerprint security enhancements, aiding in current research

I interned here during the Summers of 2014 and 2015 and worked on constructing a web crawler application to search for resumes and differentiate them from other web content. This system would allow recruiters to more easily seek out resumes with specific keywords. I also effectively applied agile techniques such as the Scrum workflow to this software development project.
