About Daniel Lynch

I am currently a Police Officer for Northamptonshire Police. My role as a police officer is to work in partnership with the communities that we serve, maintain law and order, protect members of the public and their property, prevent crime, reduce the fear of crime and improve the quality of life for all citizens. Being a police officer, you have to be able to manage a heavy workload between investigating crimes I am in charge off but also responding to the emergency calls that I am deployed to. I have the ability to manager the workload effectively because I am an organised individual who takes great pride in his work and gives 100% to everything, I turn my hand to. To be a good effective Police Officer you have to be able to adapt to any situation as at any point the situation can change. A big part of my role is to be able to communicate effectively, this could be talking to someone that is very angry, alternatively it could be an individual who is suffering from mental health and is suicidal. Another key area of my role is the paperwork side of the job when writing an incident up or submitting any public protection notices. Before I joined Northamptonshire Police I was a prison officer at HMP Bedford. A key part of the role is to have the ability to build good rapport with the prisoners and act as a role model to them, A tool that we use to help build relationships is key working sessions we carry out with the prisoners. Part of the key working sessions is to establish goals for them to achieve to when they are released back out into the community they do not re-offend. Before I joined HMP Bedford I worked as Assistant Area Manager for Northampton Leisure Trust, I worked for the organization for 13 years. Part of my role was that I was responsible for the management off 2 leisure centres which were Danes Camp Leisure Centre & Cripps Recreation Centre, my role was to over and manage the smooth operation of both leisure centres. A key part of my previous role off assistant area manager is undertaking a variety of administration tasks such as doing stock checks, placing orders and then once the items have been delivered, I am them responsible for ensuring the invoice is paid by the deadline set by the supplier. I was also expected as part of my previous role too cover shifts where required and support the team operationally at weekends and evenings, this may be on site supporting the team or if I was working from home then support would always be available via the phone.
