In my role as Learning and Participation Assistant I support the Young People and Communities Producer and Audience Development Officer in delivering a busy programme of creative learning and participation projects and events, as part of the cultural programme at Arts Centre Washington and in the wider Washington area.

During my second internship at Sunderland Culture I took part in a pilot programme of digital skills training and mentorship by Art Council England’s Digital Culture Network. I worked alongside the Marketing and Communications Co-Ordinator to embed digital skills in Sunderland Culture, as well as creating a series of online 'stories' for the Google Arts and Culture platform.Some of my responsibilities included:- Taking part in a series of training workshops on content strategy, creation, and distribution- Curating, uploading, and cataloguing a collection of digital works from National Glass Centre on the Google Arts and Culture platform- Researching, writing and designing five 'stories' about National Glass Centre for Arts Council England's Google Arts and Culture page

During my first internship at Sunderland Culture I worked with the Artist Development and Creative Industries Producer to support Unlock, Sunderland Culture’s artist development and creative industries support programme, as well as providing administrative support for the Development Manager, who leads on fundraising for Sunderland Culture.Some of my responsibilities included:- Researching and compiling creative opportunities for the Creative Industries newsletter- Assisting with the administration of Unlock events such as Creative Co-Working and Artists Support sessions- Updating fundraising information on CRM-system Spektrix including processing Gift Aid claims - Researching and compiling information for funding applications and monitoring reports

I founded the Sunderland Film Club - a not-for-profit, volunteer-run community cinema screening the most inventive and expressive work in contemporary documentary cinema. The club hosts monthly screenings, talks and workshops at the historic city centre pub The Peacock. The club launched in October 2021 with the aim to provide an inclusive space for people of all different backgrounds to enjoy, learn and feel inspired.With the help of Cinema for All’s Launchpad scheme, I worked with a mentor to learn about various aspects of setting up my own community cinema including fundraising, marketing and events management. The club has been a success with a steadily growing group of monthly attendees, press in local publications such as the Sunderland Echo and Narc Magazine and an upcoming collaboration with Teesside University’s Animex Festival.
