Key Activities: Determine the operability and maintainability of system, and develop the life of plant taking into account present status of plant.  Develop and maintain operating technical specifications, specific operating instructions / operating set points, alarm response procedures and map work flow. Responsible for engineering analyses of failure mechanism on boiler pressure parts component when required. Use root cause analysis techniques when required, this includes the contributory and direct causes to carry investigations of failures in the plant. Create plant maintenance philosophies and strategies.  Co-ordinate outage efforts between the inspection and repair contractor Carab Tekniva Group is also responsible for the drawings on the plant and it is my responsibility to ensure that these drawings are accurate and signed off.  I am also accountable for the Scope of Work given to repair contractor as well as an inspection Scope of Work when the Unit is down for unplanned or planned shutdown.  When data is returned after inspection, it is my duty to make necessary recommendations for reparations.  Use and fulfill engineering change management principles in SAP to document implemented plant modifications. Approve professional site drawings of all boiler components. Boiler tube failure confirmation and shut down recommendations. Develop and maintain the framework for verifications and validation of relevant system modification, system interface requirements, system maintainability. Do technical evaluations.

•Based at kriel Power Station (Eskom)My Duties are:•Generate inspection Scope Of Work(S.O.W), boiler inspection diagram, list of where failures, scaffolding drawings, preliminary repair S.O.W to Planned and unplanned outages. •Participate as part of the Boiler Tube Leak reduction team •Assist the Pressure Parts , HP Piping and Thick wall System engineers•Responsible for doing predictions on graphs in conjunction with the site engineer to generate Material required planning(Budget/planned future S.O.W)•Update existing map drawings using autodesk inventor professional•Provide training to the Data Technician.•Serve as client liaison for queries & help.(On & Off site)•Present during boiler tube leaks for inspection and creation cutting instructions for the repairs. Also be present for final inspections and boiler walk down before light up.•Gather & generate all boiler tube leak statistics which must be submitted to Eskom.

•Ensure appropriate maintenance and repairs of mechanical installations and components in State owned facilities to the required standards as guided by the By-Laws and Regulations.•Plan and execute service contracts for mechanical installations.•Ensure compliance to the OHSA, Building Regulations and the Electricity and Mechanical Regulations Act•Responsible for site inspections and reports on leased and state owned buildings.•Responsible for compiling the scope of works and preparing specifications, estimates and quotations according to the National Building Regulations and the OHSA.•Attend to complaints logged by the Client Departments and inspect the quality of work rendered by contractors.•Compile and submit weekly technical reports to the Head: Technical Maintenance.
