I have completed a BSc (Hons) Environmental Health at Liverpool John Moores University, achieving a 2:1. The study covered the five key areas of environmental health, i.e. food hygiene; health and safety; public health; environmental protection and housing. I have recently started a MSc Occupational Safety, Health and Environment course at Manchester Metropolitan University and I am currently a student member of the Institution of Occupation Safety and Health (IOSH).I am enthusiastic to apply the knowledge and skills I have gained through study and further develop my knowledge and understanding and have a keen interest in Health and Safety and compliance. Administration is an important part of my existing role, I have a duty to undertake and record food hygiene and health and safety checks along with employee training records. When studying the Health and Safety module during my undergraduate degree, I was required to apply my learning within a workplace setting, where I worked as an assistant to the Health and Safety Advisors. This experience deepened my interest in wanting to study this area in greater depth to help companies to prevent accidents from occurring. In addition I had a work placement at Bristol-Myer Squibb. During the placement, I conducted several food inspections along with an environmental impact assessment, presenting findings in formal reports to senior management.
