Product Development Up-Stream Development group, working specifically on developing processes for optimal production of various recombinant proteins for internal and external customers.-Insect cell culture and virus propagation in the baculovirus expression vector system (BEVS). Responsible for producing and identifying high yield clones for viruses expressing a variety of recombinant proteins .-Evaluate viruses by various cell and protein based assays. Including: PCR, SDS-PAGE, Western blot, morphology of infected cells (microscopic), titer (by plaque assay or InDevR VirocytTM2100 Virus Counter®), and infection kinetics.-Optimize fermentation conditions for recombinant protein in 3L and 15L Applikon bioreactors-Operate 5L, 15L and 45L CelliGen BLU (Eppendorf) single use bioreactors in small scale cGMP facility. Fully trained and experienced in cGMP procedures and conditions.-Respond to customer questions and needs. Adhere to specific timelines and schedules while managing work for multiple concurrent projects.-Other responsibilities include: design and execute experiments, collect and present data, and respond to customer questions and needs.
