I am a Young Engineer from the North of Scotland.I graduated in December 2023 with a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from RGU Aberdeen.I also have a HNC in Engineering Systems from UHI Moray College obtained in 2019.My current position is with Wellsafe in a Graduate Engineer role, hybrid office and offshore. Here at WSS - so far - I have gained a high level understanding of offshore operations working on the WSP Jack up installation in the Dutch sector. I have completed a fast track during which, I worked along side both the Deck and Drill crews in Rousty and Roughneck roles as well as an Assistant Derrickman. I have worked alongside the Barge Engineer in the Marine team. I have also worked in a Assistant Mechanic role working alongside the Mechanic and Motorman. Working offshore provides an ideal environment to learn about offshore operations, engineering and equipment.I have also worked offshore as a Wellsite Engineer assisting the offshore management team.I am currently working in the Subsea team in the Wellsafe office.I have previous industry experience as an Intern working in the Subsea department at Expro in Dyce working on Subsea landing string projects. This included assisting senior Engineers with projects, drafting detailed documents in CAD, participating in meetings about Engineering design reviews and project meetings with Operations Personnel. I also gained experience in the workshop inspecting equipment returning from offshore assessing what work needed done in order to make the part safe to go out on other jobs. The position also gave me the opportunity to acquire a detailed knowledge of Well Access solutions and procedures as well as a greater understanding of Oilfield practices and how the Energy industry works. During my internship I also learned about Oilfield equipment - both Subsea and Topside - and in Oil and Gas operations how safety can be prioritised, and downtime can be minimised.I have also worked in Catering and Bartending when I was younger - These jobs provided me with valuable early experience of working in a large team. I am a quick learner who can adapt to new environments and problem solve effectively, as well as a hard worker who can prioritise tasks and workloads effectively. I have an eager interest in the Energy industry.
