During this time I managed my own company and generated my own work. This involved marketing my services to clients by designing advertisements and building up a customer database. during this role a managed the account records, expenditure and income. Being in control of my own company allowed me to learn many new skills; I had to be organised to use my time effectively as well as being motivated to succeed.

I then began work as a groundwork where I worked as part of a team. I gained new skills by laying patios, driveways, garden features and general groundwork. The team had to communicate effectively to complete the job. Working as part of a team in this role was essential.

Using my previous experience of football coaching in the USA I worked as a football coach at Rushden & Diamonds Centre of Excellence. Here I planned my own sessions, where I needed to use my own initiative and make sure the children was safe at all times, this involved completing risk assessments and carrying out extensive planning. I improved my communication skills by briefing the parents as a group as well as individual consultations with parents after training sessions and matches.

On my return from America I joined McDonalds as a crew member and worked my way up to team leader were I was in sole charge of the kitchen, my duties in this role were ensuring that everybody was making productive use of the time and following the procedures as well as ensuring that resources were neither misused or wasted.

Usa

I worked as a football coach in the USA, all over California throughout the summer. This included working in a team as well as working as an individual to plan sessions to deliver the best possible experience to those involved in the programme and make the best use of the time we had.
