Responsible for the management and coordination of the organisations environmental systems, and the coordination of analytical services.Facilitates and coordinates the environmental management & monitoring program at Simcoa’s operating sites by:-conducting regular and as required environmental audits and monitoring activities, -providing statutory and other reports-liasing with regulatory bodies, community groups and employees on environmental matters.-contributes to the development of the environmental management program by identifying, designing and recommending system improvement initiatives and strategies.-Ensuring that Simcoa meets its environmental requirements by:• Providing advice to Managers• Coordinating the reporting of environmental incidents.• Staying abreast of changing State and Commonwealth environmental legislation and inform the management team of the potential impact of legislation on the organisations operations.Coordinates and supervises the activities of the laboratory by:• Ensuring that adequate resources are available for analytical services at Simcoa.• Ensuring testing equipment is maintained and is fully functional, calibrated and accurate• That the laboratory works in a safe and efficient manner.• Ensuring that laboratory personnel are adequately trained.• Providing support in analytical method development and troubleshooting.• Supervise the operations of the Laboratory Technical Officers.• Externally sourcing analytical services as required.
