o Under my watch, the Ministry of Information experienced a revolutionary approach to information management and dissemination which earned the then Governor Dickson-led Restoration Administration (2012 – 2020) wide accolades and commendations with several national and international laurels to show for it. o I also pioneered the strategic initiative of promoting open government through the “Inter-Ministerial/Agency Briefing Initiative”. It was an initiative which afforded those occupying cabinet positions in government to give account of their stewardship for a given period to underscore government’s commitment in keeping faith with the promises made to the electorate. This initiative was well received and hailed by the public as well as the media as very novel and innovative. The initiative became a reference point especially in favour of the argument for more public participatory approach in governance. It provided members of the public the opportunity to engage directly with key cabinet office holders, thereby strengthening public trust and confidence in the governance process. o Under my watch also, I organized and hosted a statewide townhall meeting across the eight local government areas of the State on Public Service Reforms. The move was designed to drum public support regarding government’s resolve to curb wastages and leakages in government. The town hall meeting was a direct response after several failed attempts to try and stem the crisis which erupted and prompted a wave of violent protest in State following the announcement and implementation of the public service reforms. The town hall meeting went a long way to address the misconceptions and misgivings about the reforms in the public service, to the extent that till date many would readily ascribe credit to the Ministry of Information under my leadership for the feat.
