• Development lead of a project to implement Instinet's next generation Algorithmic trading platform.• Greenfield project involving a completely new architecture and design. Focus on low latency, determinism, observability, and operability.• System written in Java, utilizing zero-GC, low/no allocation and latency sensitive techniques.

• Head architect and team lead of a project to re-implement Instinet’s messaging middleware (sequencer architecture).• Project involves a complete redesign and rewrite of the messaging platform (server applications and client library) used by the trading system. Focus on latency reduction and capacity increases, proper separation of business-tier from middleware-tier, and upgradability.• System written in Java, utilizing zero-GC, low/no allocation and latency sensitive techniques, with some C where appropriate.

• Successfully served as lead for all technical aspects of an implementation of a vendor hosted FX aggregation platform – including system functionality design; network connectivity; post-trade integration; integration with 3rd parties; etc.• Designed projects, and developed prototypes of, numerous integrations between Instinet’s core platform and a vendor hosted FX platform, including sophisticated currency risk hedging algorithms; FIX and REST integrations; etc.• Developed detailed workflow and requirements documentation for two distinct credit trading platforms. This included developing PoC implementations to investigate how certain credit trading paradigms (e.g. RFQ) could map to Instinet’s core trading system.

Led the development team responsible for the core ‘trading-stack’ – algorithm container; order routing; messaging infrastructure; market data handling, redistribution, and archiving; GUI and GUI server; and analysis and reporting tools – for a leading quantitative technology provider of sophisticated, multi-asset trading algorithms and analytical solutions.

Served as a lead developer, solution architect, and project manager for a large and complex integration for a tier-one FX customer.

Was responsible for technical direction and implementation for a start-up vendor of real-time financial analytical and risk management software, offered as a service. Offerings included equity option pricing tools, portfolio margin calculation system, and a position management system.

As the first technical employee at an electronic trading startup: I successfully built and delivered an equity options ATS from scratch. Position evolved from sole software engineer to dev team lead, including serving as lead developer and head architect.
