I am an Accounting, Tax and Finance student at the University of Canterbury. I am now in my third year and really enjoying my time at University and learning about this field. My Goal over my career is to achieve a Chartered Accountant qualification, and wish to eventually specialize in forensic accounting. I love the idea that financial statements tell a story, so looking into what that story is and why is what I enjoy most learning about. For work I am a Part-time Warehouse Store person working in the Foodstuffs SI Hornby Distribution Centre. Here I am largely responsible for ensuring the timely fulfillment of orders, I am also experienced in performing quality checks and training new and experienced staff in various positions throughout the warehouse. I have worked at Foodstuffs for nearly three years and am currently one of the more experienced student workers, this of course meaning more responsibility not only in the jobs I am given but as a role model for some of the younger and less experienced students. Before this I have had some experience working for a small business involved in furniture production. Here I learnt some valuable skills in woodworking, along side various other skills such as Communication and problem solving due to ensuring the product is as requested by the customer in a timely manner.
