Anyone who’s worked with me could tell you I have the gift of gab, which is a polite way of saying I don’t shut up. When it comes to Scotland and filmmaking however, I believe every word counts.I've always had a knack for storytelling, even as a kid in Aberfeldy, where I’d sit my dad down and spin tales about dragons, emperors, and distant lands. Thanks to finding my dad’s old video camera, that passion for stories improved and turned into filmmaking. At 17, I rallied a crew of 40 to shoot my first 45-minute fantasy-thriller. This got me into college, where I poured myself into directing eight short films. My best work - a Gaelic horror about mobile phones - earned me two BBC FilmG nominations. By university, I’d secured funding for my largest project—a 25-minute horror-fantasy filmed across Scotland—and graduated with a 1st, along with five films under my belt.Since then, I’ve written and directed stories inspired by Scotland and Europe’s rich history. I was made a finalist at The Pitch Film Fund for a Gaelic period-fantasy I wrote on ancient stone lifting. My next project, a Viking fantasy-horror, won 18 awards & nominations, and caught the eye of The Clanranald Trust for Scotland - an industry recognised group of genre film enthusiasts. Armed with their own medieval fort in Stirling, along with a veteran band of SPACTS, the Clanranald team have credentials from the most famous period films in the world, including Outlander, Braveheart & Gladiator. Together with Clanranald, we’ve launched a production branch to create our own in-house films, showcasing the best of Scottish culture and history. With over 20 years of story-telling experience, my ambition is to bring Scotland to the global filmmaking stage and redefine the Celtic identity.Feel free to reach out if you need a story told. I’m always ready to chat.

Freelance Film DirectorClanranald Productions Sep 2019 - PresentGlasgow, Scotland, United KingdomAfter graduating from Ravensbourne University in London, I returned to Scotland to complete my largest-standing short film project, as well as work freelance with the intention of breaking into the independent film industry as a genre-film director. At the end of 2019, I was selected as a finalist at The Pitch Film Fund for a short Gaelic film I had written on ancient stone-lifting in the Hebrides. Shortly afterwards, I received over 18 awards and selections for a short Viking film I made in collaboration with The Clanranald Trust for Scotland and the Strike Fight Company in Glasgow. I was then picked up as a freelance director for Clanranald, and together we embarked on two short film productions: "Fire & Lace" - which is set to screen at the 2024 HB Film Festival, and "Ye Jacobites by Name" - which has finished it's inaugural screening with the Outlander series team and is waiting to enter the festival circuit. In addition to these productions, I directed a folio of corporate work under Clanranald, as well as with other period-based events organisers through the trust. We built a professional relationship which has carried over to Clanranald Productions: a full end-to-end media house.
