My duties included, but were not limited to:- Connect, inspect, maintain, service and perform fault finding on the distribution boards, contactors, relays, insulators, fuse holders and motor control gear.- Installation and mounting of switch boards, distribution boards, motor control gear, isolators, plugs, lights, electrical equipment. - Design and wire the control and main circuits for single phase machines (capacitor start motor, capacitor start - capacitor run motor, forward reverse) , and 3 phase squirrel cage induction motors (DOL forward reverse, Automatic star delta, auto transformer, constant torque motor).- Soldering electronics components onto printed circuit boards.- Identify cable ratings, perform cable joints, maintain and repair lighting systems and protective devices. - Program and use P.L.C systems (Siemens LOGO soft comfort). - Identify and set up AC and/or DC welding machines, Oxygen Fuel welding Equipment. - Starting up and shutting down procedures, lighting up and adjustments of gas pressures. - Perform tack and arc welding, gas welding, heating and cutting of materials.
